Material: EPP, fan fold foam, or EPS

Winglets: ABS, coroplast, or foam

Spars: manufacturers choice not less than 1/2" behind leading edge.


Tolerances are made available for DIY'ers. Manufactured Spec-wing tolerances should be much tighter than what is presented here.

ALL Spec-wings should conform to the "spirit" of Spec-wing racing (all wings primarily the same to ensure a level playing field for ALL pilots)

SPORT WING CLASS

Airframe: Flying wing or delta wing (pods allowed)
Wingspan: 31.5-43.5inch from tip to tip (800-1105mm)
Construction: Foam construction only. Fiberglass and carbon spars permitted not less than one half inch behind leading edge. No fiberglassing or carbon covering of airframe permitted.
Pods, blunt sections, and fuselages may be foam or solid plastic construction.

Power systems:
850 Watts maximum motor power measured after 5 seconds of throttle from a fully charged pack
4 cell Lipo battery maximum 4.25 volts per cell max
Pusher motor configuration only
Multiple motors allowed

Control:
2 movable control surfaces
72MHz, 2.4GHz, 433MHz, and 900MHz control systems allowed

Optional equipment:
Flight controller or stabilizer: 150 Watt penalty
3rd or 4th control surface (ie rudder/spoilers/canard): 75 watt penalty

MINI CLASS

Wingspan: under 31.5inch (800mm)
Maximum power: 300 Watts
Maximum cell count: 4 cell
Flight controller/stabilizer: 50 watt penalty
Any fixed wing configuration allowed including canards and tractor props

UNLIMITED CLASS

Wingspan: 47-60inch (1200-1525mm)
Max weight: 3kg (6.6lbs)
Foam construction only: no fiberglassing or carbon covering. Spars ok.
No Maximum cell count, no maximum motor power and fixed wing aircraft allowed.
Must be able to race for 4 minutes
